Event experience? Yes. Blog Writing? No.

Venues for Business has over 50 years combined experience with the events, hospitality and service industries. But when it comes to blog writing it is fair to say we fall into the amateur category. I suppose you’ve always got to start somewhere.

Q. How much is there to talk about when it comes to the day to day life of an events agency?

A. Quite a lot

As a team, Venues for Business would like our clients, venues and prospects to get to know the company and what we actually do in a bit more in detail than just venue searches and negotiations. A lot has happened since the business started in 1994; from Royal Weddings, Super Saturdays in the 2012 Olympics and the heart-breaking split of the Spice Girls. Aside from what has been happening in the real world, Venues for Business has been pretty busy too! With the business flourishing, the office puppy growing into a fully-fledged office dog, grandchildren and even current team members being born since the business began.

In the last 24 years, Venues for Business has experienced a lot. There is far too much to talk about, so the past 12 months is the best place to begin.

June 2017, Venues for Business were preparing for our largest event of the year. With over 500 guests traveling from across the world to attend a week-long conference. It’s a challenge to find a destination that can accommodate for that many people for such a long period, yet we manage to secure the annual event in a different country each year. Last year the event took place in the vibrant city of Helsinki. Each location offers something new and exciting for the conference. In Helsinki we organised city boat tour which ended in a beautiful dinner for all guests on one of the beautiful neighbouring islands. And the conference itself was as always, a great success.

Helsinki – June 2017

We are very lucky to have the opportunity to meet new people and explore more of events world throughout the year. Venues for Business has been invited to many Industry Educational trips and fortunately we were able to take time from our busy work schedule to take part.

Malta is not one of the first locations people think of when it comes to planning a corporate event. However, after spending 3 days in the historic and stunning country, initial opinions were changed dramatically. The days consisted of opportunities to visit one off and unique venues, including luxurious boutique hotels hidden away in the little streets of the Valletta, Malta’s capital. The islands boasted beautiful coastlines and delicious cuisine.

Malta – December 2018

4th largest city in Morocco and also known as the rose city due to the dusky pink ancient landscape is home to endless palaces, gardens and religious monuments. This was an amazing opportunity to meet with many event suppliers from across the world. The event held in Marrakech allowed Venues for Business to come into contact with those in the industry we may not normally have the opportunity to meet. We have been able to secure two venues in Lisbon and Ibiza since the conference. Experiences such as these have broadened our knowledge of venues the world has to offer.

More recently, we flew off to Lisbon. Not only did we have an event coming up in the Portugal’s hilly Capital but we had the chance to explore the city from client’s point of view. From this we were able to find quaint restaurants and city hotspots. We gained first-hand experience which we then could pass onto our clients to ensure they had the best event experience possible.

United Kingdom

It is not all passports and sunshine, we do visit various locations in the UK too. From day to night – we believe in creating genuine relationship with suppliers, this means going on site visits, investing time in understanding the venues and the important people that work within them. This has allowed us to be open with the venues, delivering events to your needs and exceed your expectations through the development and valued relationships we have with them. We have seen many venues from an event organisers side and from a client’s point of view; we have attended Grand openings, award ceremonies, FAM trips, cooking classes and meetings within many venues that we propose. This has allowed us to get a real understanding of what the venue has to offer.

Venues for Business has a lot more to look forward over the next year. We plan to work hard and share all of our experiences with you along the way!
